Garmin Approach G5
Garmin, the undisputed world leader in satellite navigation technology, has entered the golf gps market with the release of the Approach G5, a touch screen gps that is packed with dynamic features. It can easily pinpoint any position on the course, for instance. Just touch the screen to move the red target circle anywhere and the Approach G5 will display the distance from your location to the target and from the target circle to the green. this, along with vivid color maps of each hole, makes finding instant yardage to any spot a breeze. As you approach the green, you can zoom in with Green View and position the pin anywhere on the green. It comes preloaded with thousands of golf maps (unfortunately, for the US only), and there are no membership or course download fees for extra maps.
The only major feature missing is game analysis. The Approach G5 can keep score for four players for a single round of golf, and you can store as many rounds as you wish on your computer; however, it does not keep track of important statistics like greens in regulation, putts per round, etc., for in-depth analysis.
