Bushnell, industry leading makers of laser rangefinders, has recently bought iGolf. The iGolf GPS devices are being marketed under the names of both companies. If you buy a Bushnell GPS, you will be downloading courses from the iGolf.com website, for instance.

iGolf Neo

The iGolf Neo (now the Bushnell Neo) is one of the smallest, most compact GPS units available, and certainly one of the simplest to use. It does not have any of the fancy graphics or any of the advanced features of the higher priced models, but it does give you all of the basic functions that make a golf GPS useful. It displays the distance front, center, and back of each green and it has a shot distance calculator to determine the length of each club you use. It also allows you to custom map up to four points on each hole. It is very reasonably priced at $149.99.

It can store up to 10 courses, but if you want to download courses you will have to pay an annual subscription fee of $34.99 which will allow you to download up to 100 courses from iGolf’s database of mapped golf courses. The good thing about this is that once you download them to your computer, they are yours to keep. So plan your downloads wisely and you may only have to pay the subscription fee once. Without paid membership you can of course custom map any course you wish.

iGolf Saturn

The iGolf Saturn (or Bushnell Yardage Pro XGC) is a more advanced GPS device. It has a full-color graphics display that shows a picture of the green and indicates the the distances to the front,center, and back of the green. But, it also has a color image layout of each hole and a white crosshair that can positioned to determine the distance from your location to any point on the hole. You can also custom map up to five points on each hole in a very simple way: you simply go to a point, stand still, and select register to map the location. It also has a score tracker to input scores and keep statistics of each round.
