SkyCaddie
-->SkyCaddie bills itself as the number one rangefinder in golf. While that statement is arguable, it certainly comes with many of the “bells and whistles” associated with a golf GPS, and its technological prowess is unmatched. One of the things that sets it apart from the competition is its detailed and rigorous mapping procedure: You’ve probably seen the SkyCaddie infomercial where members of the mapping team walk the entire course to gather the best possible information, “just like a tour caddy”. Unlike some other golf GPS makers, SkyGolf shuns the use of satellite imagery.
SkyCaddie SGX

SkyGolf has mimicked the look, feel, and functionality of touchscreen golf GPS devices like OnPar, or smartphone/iPhone apps like the very popular GolfShot. It has full colored maps of the entire hole, for instance, and it can determine the distance to any point on the course. But, unlike OnPar or GolfShot, it will have the backing of SkyGolf’s superior “on the ground” mapping process and SkyGolf’s TruePoint Precision Positioning Technology for unparalleled GPS acquisition and accuracy.
Main Features:
- HoleVue. HoleVue displays a vivid color image of the entire hole and allows you to easily determine the distance to any spot the course. With HoleVue Zoom you can zoom in close to any area for a better view.
- IntelliGreen. It will come equipped with SkyCaddie’s patented IntelliGreen technology that gives the exact outline of the green and rotates so that it is always aligned to the direction of the approaching golfer. While other golf GPS devices have technology similar to IntelliGreen, none of them has anything like IntelliGreen Pro, which shows the actual contours of the green with false fronts clearly marked. Satellite imagery is simply not good enough to provide such details on the green; only SkyCaddie has done the ground mapping necessary to accurately mark the contours on the greens.
- Statistical Analysis. A digital scorecard and stat tracking option to track key game statistics would seem to be mandatory on a golf GPS device these days, and the SGX has them. You can track fairways hit, greens in regulation, driving accuracy and distance, and total putts.
- SGX SmartClub . With the revolutionary SmartClub Technology you will be able to place SmartClub Tags on the butt end of your club grips and SkyCaddie will communicate directly with your clubs. After each shot, SkyCaddie will automatically track the club used, the exact location of the shot, and the distance the shot traveled. That will eliminate the hassle of manually marking and entering shot data. SmartClub will even remind you if you leave a club behind on the course. (Note: SmartClub Technology will not be available until June, 2010.)
- Comes preloaded with up to 30,000 course maps with Basic Green information (This is, unfortunately, only free for 30 days.) The SGX can also store up to 50 full-featured courses that are available with a SkyCaddie Membership Plan.

SkyCaddie SG5

The SkyCaddie SG5 is a top of the line golf GPS.
Some of its main features are:
- Professionally mapped courses that instantly calculate distances to up to 40 targets per hole for hands-free operation.
- IntelliGreen technology that displays a vivid, color image of the green with a nifty cross hair that can be positioned at any point on the green. The line measuring the distance to the front, back, and to the cross-hair turns and aligns itself according to your angle of approach. This always determines the depth of the green from your vantage point.(Note: IntelliGreen feature is only available on Four Star professionally mapped courses.)
- IntelliGreen Pro (Beta) is available for a limited number of courses. It displays major contours, ridges, and false fronts of the green.
- HoleVue (Beta) is a graphical image of the entire hole (not a satellite image, of course, but an image generates by SkyGolf’s TrueGround mapping technology).
- QuickView, also powered by TrueGround Mapping, gives the golfer a quick overview of the hole, displaying a picture of the green and the distance and direction of the “best” shot into the fairway.
- Targets in front of you are clearly marked and are automatically removed from the screen as you pass them.
- It has a standard mark function to determine shot distances.
- It can store up to 20 courses.

In addition to its Intelligreen View, the SkyCaddie SG5 has four different target view options:
- Standard View. This displays a list of targets and their distances.
- Graphical View. This will display a graphical icon of each target.
- Expanded View. In Expanded View a clearer picture of each target is shown, and the distance from the target to the center of the green (represented by the cross-hair) is also given.
- Big Number Target. Self explanatory: In this view, it displays distances in very large, easy to see numbers.
Other Specifications and Features:
- Lithium-ion rechargeable battery with about 14 of life.
- High-resolution 2.2-inch (55.9 mm) backlit color LCD screen
- You can self-map front, center, and back of the green of any course that is not in the the database. You can store up to five of these on the device.
- Digital scorecard that adjusts to your handicap.
